NEW - PointCloud FreeEdition! AutoCAD now contains a native point cloud engine which is powerful enough to handle up to 2 billion points of scan data. Currently, AutoCAD only supports a few data formats for import to .PCG. kubit is happy to fill this gap by providing many more import options with our new PointCloud FreeEdition. Users can now take advantage of the powerful AutoCAD .PCG engine and import the data from their laser scanner directly into AutoCAD. Yes, it is free! |

AutoCAD® based PointCloud supports the visualisation and analysis of millions of 3D points within AutoCAD. Points recorded with a 3D Laser Scanner can be processed using standard 2D and 3D AutoCAD commands.
As the use of 3D Laser Scanners for recording industrial structures, historic buildings and sculptures increase, there is a need to be able to combine the resultant point cloud with other information such as photographs and vector data to produce complete records and possibly CAD drawings.
PointCloud displays only points that are actually visible ensuring not only the quickest possible display but also making it easier for the operator to understand and to work with the cloud. Section Manager enables the operator to divide the cloud into manageable portions for processing or visualisation. Single or multiple slices may be created with ease.
Adding orientated images to the cloud enables the operator to use the high resolution imagery to locate details whilst PointCloud provides the full 3D location from the cloud data.
"I am using the PointCloud software. This, in my opinion, is the single most important advancement in point cloud management in the past 12 months. Your software will now allow me to scan and forget."
